This policy explains what personal information Steel Tech Engineering Excellence Center LLP (“STEEL”, “we”, “us”) collects through https://steel.careers, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do with it.

We are a training institute. The information you give us is used to answer your enquiry and to run our courses. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or email address with third parties for their own marketing.

1. Who we are

Steel Tech Engineering Excellence Center LLP is a Limited Liability Partnership registered in India, with its registered office at 1st Floor, Mouri Tech, D1 IT Park Hill #2, Rushikonda, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam - 530045, Andhra Pradesh. We also operate a centre at R366-Thane Belapur Road, TTC Industrial Estate, Navi Mumbai - 400701, INDIA.

For anything in this policy you can reach us at contact@steel.careers or +91 91823 96242. Our full contact details are in section 13.

2. What this policy covers

It covers this website and the enquiry, registration and newsletter forms on it. It does not cover other companies’ websites we link to, such as Trimble’s Tekla pages, Google Maps or WhatsApp — those services have their own policies, and you should read them there.

3. What we collect

Information you give us

Our forms ask only for what we need to reply to you. Depending on the form, that is:

  • your name;
  • your phone or WhatsApp number, and your email address;
  • how and when you would prefer to be contacted;
  • the course or topic you are interested in;
  • anything you type into the message box;
  • for a hiring or corporate training enquiry, your company name, the roles you are hiring for and your team size.

A name, and either a phone number or an email address, are needed for us to reply. Everything else is optional. Please do not send us identity documents, financial details or any other sensitive information through these forms — we do not ask for them, and the forms are not the place for them.

Information collected automatically

When you submit a form we also record, alongside your enquiry:

  • the page you submitted it from, and the page you first arrived on;
  • the website that referred you, if any;
  • the campaign tags in the link you followed, so we know which advertisement, email, poster or QR code brought you to us;
  • your answer to “where did you see us?”, where the form asks it;
  • your IP address and browser user-agent string, which we use to apply a submission limit and to identify automated spam.

Our website host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as every web server does.

Information stored in your browser

The site stores a small amount of information in your own browser, on your own device. We cannot read it, and it is never sent anywhere except with a form you choose to submit:

  • the campaign tags from the link you arrived by, kept for the length of your visit so that they can be attached to a form you fill in later;
  • a note that you have dismissed a pop-up, so it does not reappear during your visit;

Payments

Where a course fee is paid online, the payment is taken by a third-party payment gateway. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on the gateway’s own secure page and are handled under its PCI-DSS certification. We never see or store your card number. We receive only the outcome of the payment, the amount and a reference number. [The payment gateway is being finalised; this section will name it once it is live.]

4. Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry by WhatsApp, a call or email, in the way you asked us to;
  • send you the acknowledgement email confirming we received your form;
  • tell you about batch dates, fees and the admission steps for the course you asked about;
  • register you for a masterclass or event you signed up for, and send you the joining details;
  • send you our newsletter, if you subscribed — every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and subscribing is never a condition of anything else;
  • deliver the training, assess your work and issue your certificate, once you enrol;
  • keep our own records of enrolments and payments, as the law requires;
  • understand which of our advertisements, posters and QR codes actually bring people to us, so we spend less on the ones that do not;
  • keep the forms working and free of spam.

We rely on the consent you give when you submit a form, and on our need to perform the agreement between us once you enrol. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 9).

5. Who we share it with

Your information is seen by the STEEL team members who handle admissions and training. Beyond that, we share it only with the service providers that run this website and our systems, and only so that they can provide that service to us:

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it handles
HostingerHosts this websiteServer logs, including IP addresses
VercelRuns the service that receives our formsYour form submission in transit
NeonHosts the database our enquiries are stored inYour enquiry record
BrevoSends our acknowledgement and notification emailsYour name and email address
Payment gatewayTakes online fee paymentsYour payment details, which we never see

Some of these providers store data on servers outside India. Where that happens, the transfer is made under the provider’s own contractual safeguards.

We will also disclose information if we are required to by law, a court or a regulator, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. Beyond that, we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Where you sit a Tekla Certification Exam, your name and exam result are shared with Trimble, the exam provider, because the certificate is issued by them. We tell you before that happens.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site does not run analytics or advertising tags, and sets no tracking cookies. The only information kept on your device is the browser storage described in section 3, which stays on your device.

Should we start using analytics or advertising measurement, they will load only after you accept them through a consent banner, and this section will be updated before they do.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an enrolment are kept while we are still following up and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Student records — your enrolment, attendance, assessments and certificate — are kept for as long as you may need us to confirm your training and certification.
  • Payment and accounting records are kept for the period Indian tax and company law requires us to keep books of account, which is at least eight years.
  • Submissions marked as spam are kept briefly so we can keep blocking them, then deleted.

8. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS and every form submission is encrypted in transit. Enquiries are stored in a managed database that is not open to the public internet, and the dashboard our team uses to work them is password-protected, with each session signed. Access is limited to the people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
  • correct or complete anything that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
  • stop contacting you, or withdraw a consent you gave us — as easily as you gave it;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.

Write to contact@steel.careers from the address you gave us, or call +91 91823 96242, and tell us what you want done. We may need to check who you are first. We will act on your request and reply within a reasonable period. There is no charge.

Withdrawing consent does not undo anything we did while it was in force, and we may still keep what the law requires us to keep. To stop the newsletter, the unsubscribe link at the foot of any issue is the quickest way.

10. Children

Our courses are for engineering graduates and working professionals, and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

11. Other websites and WhatsApp

This site links to services we do not control — Trimble and Tekla, Google Maps, WhatsApp, and the social profiles in our footer. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is carried on WhatsApp’s systems under its own policy, not ours. We are responsible only for what we do with what you send us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed, and the current version is always the one published here. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will make it obvious rather than rely on this page alone.

13. Contact us and how to complain
